Listening to a podcast on your computer desktop can be as easy as visiting your favorite podcast on the web and pressing play on the embedded player they have on their site. However, if you’d like to manage multiple podcast subscriptions in one place then the apps below will cover it for you.
iTunes
Apple iTunes is, as they say, the 800 pound gorilla in the room. By many accounts Apple accounts for upwards of 80% of all podcast consumption and for good reason. They were early to embrace podcasts first listing them in iTunes in mid-2005 and have been an industry leader ever since.
iTunes comes pre-installed on Macs and you can download it for free for Windows.

Google Play
While not technically an app, you can listen to podcasts using your web browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, etc.) by logging into your Google account and browse the listings on Google Play.
Pocket Casts
One of the more popular mobile app podcast players is also available on the web and will automatically sync with your mobile app as to where you are in a show etc. It’s a one time $9 cost but they do have a free trial period to allow you time to check it out.
